Description

Acquisition Professionals LLC is seeking a Budget Analyst to support our client in Washington, DC. The candidate must determine the best method for distributing resources efficiently among departments and organizational programs and allocate financial resources. By drafting and developing budgets and estimating financial needs makes recommendations to influence decisions that concern performance evaluation, policy adoption and analysis, and budget legislation drafting. Must be able to work in a highly dynamic and versatile environment. Candidate must be able to multi-task and switch assignments/gears quickly and work independently. Below are additional responsibilities, required skills and qualifications of the positions:


Responsibilities
  • Monitors the budget, review reports and accounting records. Determine if allocated funds have been spent procedurally according to policy. When variations occur, submit reports and recommend alternative procedures.
  • Submit operational and capital budget summaries to clients and propose plans and/or recommend other financial alternatives.
  • Analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.
  • Prepare regular and special budget reports.
  • Consult with clients to ensure that budget adjustments are made in accordance with program changes.
  • Match appropriations for specific programs with appropriations for broader programs.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.
  • Summarize budgets and submit recommendations for the approval or disapproval of funds requests.
  • Assist (financially) in the production and updates of program acquisition documentation such as Acquisition Strategies, Acquisition Plans, and SOWs.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and provide program/project administration recommendations to address cost, schedule, and performance issues.
  • Provide support on fiscal year budget planning, program execution and out-year planning to include production and modification of funds execution documents through DHA process.
  • Monitor and make recommendations on funded and unfunded requirements.
  • Monitor and track financial, project, and cost data for incorporation into teamwork plans, data calls, financial addendum, budgetary support documentation, and other financial sheets.
  • Monitor obligations and expenditures of funds; update/develop spreadsheets, cost databases, and financial status reports as required.
  • Monitor funded and unfunded requirements and provide recommendations for priority funding.
  • Budget Agreements that outline the detailed requirements approved funding spend plans, and checkbooks.
  • Review and update existing budget agreements to ensure compliance with objectives outlined.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • 5+ years relative experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication
